Waterford Lakes eMail Bulletin - January 2018 News Update

Good Afternoon Waterford Lakes and Happy New Year!

Ok, being from the Midwest, I don't know if I should say this or not, but I woke up this morning and had to turn on the heat in the house. It's not often that I need to do that. With the cold weather, keep in mind that it will affect your plants no matter how well you cover them. Don't be in a rush to trim them up once you see the burnt ends (Sounds like a barbeque). We still have a few nights of 32 degree or colder temps and that possibility is still there even into early February. Let that dead plant material hang out a little longer as it will protect the rest of the plant should we have a few more days of potential freezing temps. Your plant will appreciate it.

Here is some updated info on a project we started in December. Sorry for the late notice, but the dog park will be closed starting tomorrow. The fence vendor contacted us and they will be out to remove the old fence tomorrow morning and Monday the concrete vendor will be out to start forming for the new sidewalks. Once the concrete goes in, we will then follow up with the install of the new fencing and adjusting irrigation and installing new turf and other plant materials weather permitting. I anticipate a couple weeks of work and then the time needed to install turf and let it take hold. So put the word out if you are a die hard dog park fan and let your fellow dog park cohorts know. Thanks again for everyone's patience as we work through the timeline on this.

The new sun shades at the Rec Center playground turned out amazing! Of course just the massive size and height of the units really turn heads but once the sun gets high in the sky, it should make the use of the play equipment this summer a little more tolerable. I did order padded post protectors and those will be in by the end of the month. Those are custom made since the posts are 5x5 square.

Also, the ARC Committee has been hard at work making adjustments to the Paint Guideline. You can stop by the office to look at the preliminary version of them and they are currently being reviewed by the association attorney for consistency with Florida Statutes. Once the review is done the guideline will be added to a board meeting agenda for approval and then we will mail them to all owners.

And of course some of my email blasts would not be complete without the friendly reminder that the 1st quarter assessments are now due. You can stop by and drop off payment by check or pay with a credit card. You can also just give us a call at (407) 380-3803 and make a payment with credit card over the phone. If you already made payment or mailed it in to the PO box please except our thanks.

I certainly hope your holidays went well and you had a great time with family and friends and all were safe. Stay warm the next couple of nights and as always, thank you again for allowing staff the opportunity to be a part of the Waterford Lakes Community!

Warmest Waterford Regards!
